Columbia Engineering Executive Education and Fullstack Academy Launch AI-Powered Cybersecurity Bootcamp

Columbia Engineering Executive Education, in collaboration with Fullstack Academy, has launched the AI-Powered Cybersecurity Bootcamp, a 16-week, part-time bootcamp designed to equip professionals with the practical skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape. The bootcamp combines live, interactive online learning, hands-on projects, AI-focused workshops, and masterclasses, enabling learners to build capabilities across cybersecurity, AI-powered threat detection, ethical hacking, and offensive security. The bootcamp is designed for both aspiring cybersecurity professionals and those looking to transition into or advance their careers in the field, with no prior technical background required.

As cybersecurity threats become increasingly sophisticated, the skills required to defend against them are evolving quickly. According to the Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026, which highlights the growing skills gap, data from the AI Workforce Consortium shows that the share of cybersecurity job advertisements seeking AI skills has increased from 14.2% to 28.5% in a year. This growing intersection of AI and cybersecurity is creating demand for professionals who can understand threats, strengthen defenses, and use AI to respond more effectively.

The bootcamp takes learners through the cybersecurity lifecycle, moving from foundational concepts in operating systems and networking to more advanced areas including AI-powered blue team strategies, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, ethical hacking, ransomware and malware analysis, and AI-enhanced red team tactics. The hands-on learning experience extends across 20+ tools and 10+ projects, giving learners the opportunity to apply concepts in realistic cybersecurity scenarios. The curriculum includes practical exposure to tools such as Splunk, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, AWS, Azure, VirusTotal, and MITRE ATT&CK, among others.

The bootcamp also features an AI Cybersecurity Workshop Series, including sessions on AI foundations for cybersecurity professionals, AI-augmented Security Operations Centers (SOCs), comprehensive vulnerability assessment, and securing agentic and autonomous AI systems. The bootcamp is designed for a diverse group of learners, including non-technical professionals and career changers, recent graduates, technology professionals looking to specialize in cybersecurity, and existing cybersecurity professionals seeking to strengthen their AI capabilities. With no technical background required, the bootcamp is structured to provide learners with the foundational knowledge, hands-on practice, and career-focused skills needed to enter or progress within the cybersecurity field. Upon successful completion of the AI-Powered Cybersecurity Bootcamp, learners will receive a certificate of completion from Columbia Engineering Executive Education and Fullstack Academy.
