Columbia Engineering Executive Education Collaborates With Fullstack Academy to Launch the Applied AI Engineer Bootcamp

Fullstack Academy today announced a collaboration with Columbia Engineering Executive Education to deliver the Applied AI Engineer Bootcamp. The 20-week, part-time bootcamp program equips professionals with the skills needed to build, deploy, monitor, and govern AI systems in production. The collaboration brings together Columbia Engineering Executive Education’s expertise in developing future engineering leaders with Fullstack Academy’s hands-on technology training and career-focused support.

Building AI systems that perform reliably in production, under real-world conditions and at scale, is a fast-growing need. PwC’s Global AI Jobs Barometer highlights that jobs reshaped by AI to require deeper expertise are growing twice as fast as other roles, with 42% higher wage growth. Gartner, meanwhile, projects that 40% of enterprise applications will feature task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026. This bootcamp sits at the center of that shift, helping learners move into generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), while building in-depth expertise in agentic and multi-agent systems, Model Context Protocol (MCP), large language model (LLM) operations, deployment, governance, and responsible AI.

The Applied AI Engineer Bootcamp is for learners who want to build AI systems from start to finish. This 20-week program is delivered through live, interactive online lessons, covers more than 35 tools and 10 hands-on projects, and takes learners through the complete AI engineering lifecycle.

The bootcamp is designed for professionals from different backgrounds: non-tech professionals and career changers starting with no coding background, tech professionals looking to specialize in applied AI, recent graduates and junior AI specialists who want to move beyond simple demos and build real systems, and professionals already working with AI who want to take their prototypes to production.

Taught by industry-experienced Fullstack Academy instructors, the Applied AI Engineer Bootcamp moves through five stages: Foundations, Generative AI, Agent Engineering, Production & Deployment, and Real-World Application. The curriculum covers programming and Python for AI and machine learning, agentic AI, generative AI, RAG, multimodal AI, multi-agent systems, workflow automation, MCP, AI tooling frameworks, LLM operations and deployment, customized LLMs with OpenAI, and AI product deployment, operations, and governance.

Projects include an AI-powered HR assistant, customer order analysis using Python, and a Python adventure game built with GitHub Copilot. They give learners experience applying generative AI and agentic AI to practical use cases.

Learners can attend quarterly masterclasses led by Columbia Engineering faculty, covering emerging AI research, technologies, and industry developments, and gain access to AI Impact Studios, a live workshop series across two tracks: AI Builder Studio, focused on AI development, automation, and deployment; and AI Business Impact Studio, focused on AI-powered productivity, decision-making, workflow transformation, and business innovation.

Graduates receive a certificate of completion from Columbia Engineering Executive Education and Fullstack Academy. They can also access the Fullstack Academy Career Success Services during the bootcamp and for a full year after graduation. The services include one-on-one career coaching and interview preparation, a curated career success platform, career success workshops and practicum lessons, and alumni panels, guest lectures, and other industry events.
