Alexa, what can you do?
In this video, Richard Sheng gives an overview of the Echo Family of devices, and Alexa Voice Services that they are powered by. Pre-built by Amazon are a set of commands or "skills" that Alexa can interpret, such as playing music, finding nearby restaurants, answering queries, etc. What's more interesting is how developers can create their own custom skills. In this Tech Talk, learn about a simple architecture using Alexa Skills + AWS Lambda to build a Hello World skill. Understand how to establish "intents" that the skills should execute, and the "utterances", or phrases, that Alexa should anticipate to receive that map to various intents. As the video will show, Alexa is already becoming pervasive by being embedded in cars, home appliances, etc.
