In a very fast void, how fast can you avoid?

Emily Gordon created Accelerando in a couple days. First, she set up some instruments and effects with Tone.js (finding the semantics immediately familiar as a frequent user of DAWs and trackers). Next, she wrote a simple loop.

Using React and Redux, she set up an ugly white webpage with nothing on it but a play button, a stop button, and a play speed control. She scrapped that webpage, made a game with Phaser.js, and linked the speed control to the game logic. She wrote some more music generation instructions, and that's version 0.0.1 of Accelerando!

If you'd like to play Accelerando in all its alpha glory, it's now deployed at - and if you'd like to see the code, check out
