In this talk, Dillon Powers explores the power of JavaScript's RegEx implementation as well as its limitations. He starts at the theoretical roots of Regular Expressions and Formal Language Theory, then dives deep into the nuances of using RegEx in JS. He walks through some insightful code snippets that expose how JS RegEx maintain state. Finally, Dillon examines why a given RegEx implementation may not be the best tool for parsing arbitrary HTML.
