A Day in the Life of a Fullstack Cyber Student
The Full-Time Fullstack Cybersecurity Bootcamp is 13 weeks with Monday through Friday classes.
Due to its immersive nature, students of the Full-Time curriculum should not maintain any employment during their 13 weeks of study. Even working just a few hours a week puts students at a disadvantage in making the most of their bootcamp experience.
Your morning starts with an optional review session to answer questions from the prior day. Your Fullstack Cyber Instructor leads the class through the prior day’s workshop, live demonstrations, and takes questions along the way.
This portion of the day starts with a 45-minute live lecture and demonstration covering the previous night’s homework, led by your instructor.
After the lecture, you’ll go into the workshop, pairing up with another student to tackle a set of exercises designed by your instructor. Workshops allow you to put into practice the skills you learned from morning lecture and the previous night’s homework. The workshops are challenging and often go deeper than some of the areas covered in the related lecture. If your team needs help solving a challenge during the workshop, a Teaching Fellow will be there to assist. At the end of the workshop, students discuss the activity with the larger class.
Students use this free time to recharge. In many cohorts, students choose to have weekly lunches with their Fellow and a group of classmates to catch up on the week.
After lunch, your instructor will teach another 45-minute live lecture and demonstration introducing a new topic or set of skills.
Collaboration and teamwork is essential to thriving in a cybersecurity career, so during the afternoon session you’ll once again pair up with another student. Together, you’ll solve challenges designed specifically for the material just covered in lecture. During this time a Teaching Fellow is available to help you through any problems you may get stuck on. The workshop closes with a class discussion.
At the end of the day, your instructor touches base on what was covered that day and makes sure students have a clear understanding of the night’s homework.
The Part-Time Fullstack Cybersecurity Bootcamp is 26 weeks with classes from 7pm-10pm ET on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9:30am-1:30pm ET on Saturdays.
During this time, your Fullstack Cyber Instructor addresses any questions from the previous class.
Following the recap, class time pivots to a live demonstration and lecture that covers the key points from the homework.
During workshops, you’ll pair up with another student to tackle a set of exercises designed by your instructor. Workshops allow you to put into practice the skills and concepts covered in the lecture and homework. If your team needs help solving a challenge during the workshop, your Fullstack Cyber Teaching Fellow is there to assist. At the end of the workshop, students discuss the activity with the larger class, and the instructor answers any outstanding questions.
After starting with a brief live 45-min lecture and demonstration. You'll dive into another workshop. Collaboration and teamwork is essential to thriving in a cybersecurity career, so during the Saturday session you’ll once again pair up with another student. Together, you’ll solve challenges designed specifically for the material just covered in lecture. During this time a Fullstack Cyber Teaching Fellow will be available to help you through any problems you may get stuck on. The workshop closes with a class discussion and review of the previous week's materials.
